Playground

These are the same keys you would set in config/commentify.php and config/commentify-pro.php. They are stored in a cookie on this browser, so nobody else sees your experiment. Settings that register routes or view paths reload the page.

Thread

Threaded replies Off turns the thread into a flat list, no reply buttons. Sort dropdown Hides the control and pins the thread to newest-first. Default sort Which order a thread opens in. Comments per page Also becomes the default page size on the JSON API. Theme Auto follows the visitor’s OS preference. CSS framework Swaps the entire Blade view set. Read while the app boots.

Composer

Markdown toolbar Bold, italic, link, code and quote buttons above the box. Write / Preview tabs Preview renders through the same pipeline as the saved comment. Emoji picker Adds the emoji button to the composer toolbar.

Moderation

Read-only mode Freezes a thread. The API answers 423 on every write. Require approval New comments are hidden until a moderator approves them. Reporting Lets readers flag a comment for moderation. Notifications Fires CommentPosted / CommentLiked events to your channels.

Guests

Guest commenting Name + email on the composer. No account required. Guest comments via API Lets the JSON API accept the same guest payload the Livewire form posts. Stricter guest spam Unsigned comments are treated as untrusted by the heuristic checker.

Badges, pins, realtime

Author & moderator badges OP and staff labels next to a name. Pinned comments Moderators can pin a parent comment to the top of the thread. Realtime refresh Listen on commentify.{alias}.{id} via Echo. Needs Reverb running. Moderator webhooks POST pending / report / spam_deny payloads to the lab inbox.

Notifications

Subscribe to replies Adds the subscribe checkbox and signed unsubscribe links.

JSON API

Guest likes Unauthenticated visitors can like, keyed on IP + user agent. Guest reports Unauthenticated visitors can report a comment. Eager replies per comment How many replies ride along with each parent before "load more". Read rate limit / min Applied to the commentify-api-read throttle. Write rate limit / min Applied to the commentify-api-write throttle.

Spam pipeline

On checker failure What to do when an external checker times out or throws. Max links More than this holds for review; more than double denies outright. Trusted after N approved Below this, any comment containing a link is held for review. Duplicate window (seconds) Identical body from the same author inside this window is held. Blocked terms Any match denies the comment immediately.

Blocked link domains Matches the host and its subdomains.

No overrides yet, this thread is using the shipped defaults.

Try posting more than two links to trip the heuristic, mention someone with @, or toggle read-only and hit like.

Read-only mode is the interesting one. Flip it on and every write — including likes — should freeze.
