Moderation is a product feature, not an afterthought

If your moderation tools are a database client, your community is already in trouble.

The moment you accept user content you have signed up to review it. The only question is whether you review it in a purpose-built queue or in a SQL client at eleven at night.

Bulk actions, an audit trail of who did what, and a spam log you can correct are not luxuries. They are the difference between moderation being someone's job and moderation being someone's dread.
